Chocolate Sticks: A Sweet Delight

Indulge in the rich flavors of chocolate combined with the light and crispy texture of homemade sticks. These chocolate sticks are the perfect treat to serve with a cup of coffee or as an afternoon snack. They’re easy to make and are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults. Here’s how to whip up these delightful treats:

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 100g sugar
  • 240g flour
  • 4g baking powder
  • 90g butter
  • 400g melted chocolate

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough: Begin by taking a mixing bowl and adding the egg and sugar. Stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves completely. To this, sift in the flour and baking powder. Add the butter next, and knead the mixture until it forms into a soft, homogeneous, and compact dough.
  2. Refrigerate the Dough: Wrap the prepared dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Allow it to rest and harden for approximately 40 minutes.
  3. Shape the Sticks: After the refrigeration, take out a short portion of the dough. Shape it into a long, thick loaf that’s slightly less thick than your little finger. From this loaf, cut out sticks that are about 8-10 cm in length.
  4. Baking: Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). Arrange the formed sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake them for around 12 minutes or until they turn a light golden color.
  5. Chocolate Coating: In the meantime, ensure your chocolate is melted and smooth. Once the sticks have cooled slightly, use tongs to dip each stick, one at a time, into the melted chocolate, ensuring they’re fully coated.
  6. Cooling: Lay the chocolate-coated sticks on parchment paper, allowing the excess chocolate to drip. Let them cool and harden completely before serving.

Serving Tip: These chocolate sticks are best enjoyed fresh. You can store them in an airtight container for up to a week. They make for an elegant dessert offering at parties or a delightful gift for chocolate lovers!

Indulge, enjoy, and let the rich flavors take you on a sweet journey!
