Condensed Milk and Bread Pudding: A Creamy Delight

Delight your taste buds with this sumptuous bread pudding, enriched with the creamy goodness of condensed milk and enhanced by the aromatic notes of orange zest. Topped off with a luscious dulce de leche mousse, this dessert promises an indulgent experience with every bite.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar.
  • 3 French bread rolls, crusts removed.
  • 1 can of condensed milk.
  • 200 cc (about 3/4 cup) of milk.
  • 4 eggs.
  • 200 cc (about 3/4 cup) of cream.
  • 200 g of pastry dulce de leche.
  • Grated zest of an orange.

Directions:

  1. Start by melting the sugar in a small pot until it turns into a golden caramel.
  2. Pour the caramel into a savarin mold (ring-shaped mold) and set it aside.
  3. In a blender or mixer, combine the crust-less bread, condensed milk, eggs, and whole milk.
  4. Add the orange zest and blend until you achieve a smooth mixture.
  5. Pour the blend into the caramel-coated mold and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Place the mold in a bain-marie (water bath) and bake in the oven for about 80 minutes at 180ºC (356ºF).
  7. Once baked, refrigerate for 4 hours to set.
  8. In a mixing bowl, whip the cream and fold in the dulce de leche until you achieve a mousse-like consistency.
  9. Serve the chilled bread pudding with a generous dollop of the dulce de leche mousse on top.
